I am a girly girl and lover of all things beauty. I dress up everyday, even if I am going to do nothing but go to the gym. I have been asked many times by people why do I dress up and for who? The best answer is always that I do it for myself. So here you will find my own personal advice on all things make up, skin care, and overall being the best diva that you can be! If you look in the mirror and don’t like what you see, you can always change it. Don’t worry about what others will say, at the end of the day people will criticize you no matter what.
For my first post, I would like to talk about my experience with lash extensions. I absolutely love them and recommend them to everyone. They really make your eyes look even more amazing. And even on the few days that I don’t wear make up, they just make your face pop!
I had met a girl that had them, and fell in love. I have never been good at putting on lashes myself, it is something that I struggled with learning, and honestly it is because I was lazy. I am sure with some persistence and practice that I would become an expert at it. But I already have a pretty extensive daily beauty routine, and adding an extra step is not what I am trying to do. Especially, when I always on the go and need to get ready fast. So eyelash extension seemed more convenient for my lifestyle. The girl I had met recommended a place in NYC called Lash Forever. I made an appointment and just decided to go for it. They have a special for first time clients, you get 50% off your first set and they give you the mink lashes for free.
I arrived at my appointment, it is on the 4th floor of a building, the space was very nice and clean, I am very boujee and I would have not gotten them done there had the place not looked upscale and luxurious. The staff there was very nice and they gave me a mini consultation to find out what my needs were. My natural eye lashes are already long, and therefore I went with the 14 cm ones, and chose to do the semi round style. After my consultation, they walked me over to a room with multiple twin size beds. I was told to lay down, and the process began. The lady that took care of me had the hands of an angel, it literally felt like I was having a feather passed along my eye lashes. It did not hurt at all. The whole process took about an hour and a half. I also received a $20 gift card that I could apply for my next visit. They recommend that you do a touch up every 3 weeks in order to get the reduced price, otherwise you have to pay full price for the next set. I honestly did it within 3 weeks the second time, but went after 2 months the second time. It is very expensive to keep up with it every 3 weeks, and after waiting 2 months, I don’t feel it is a necessity to go so often. They still maintained well, and I do my makeup everyday, and my eye liner at least 3 days out of the week. I wash my face every day and they held up perfectly fine. If you can manage to to learn to put on your own lashes and have the time, that is just as good too. One of the pros of putting on your own lashes is that you can change the style based on the occasion. They have so many varieties out there, that it sounds fun to have a dramatic look one day, and a casual look the next. It is totally up to your preference. As long as you feel beautiful, that is all that matters.
